We flew there on a Friday and returned Monday morning, so it was a short trip. Anyway, Saturday first thing we drove to the trailhead and had shorts and all our stuff on to do this 21km hike, it was 8 deg. C and you couldn't see but 50 ft. in front of you, so we turned around and headed back to Lake Crackenback, where we didn't do a whole lot. Joe went searching for wombats, but thats about it. Sunday, we tried again and even though it looked pretty horrible where we were staying it was clearing near the trailhead. Because of the clouds and haste to get to the trail head, we forgot the sunblock, Joe now has more freckles because of it. It was a good hike, and a change of scenery. We spent Monday in Canberra, which wasn't that exciting, I think the capital buildings in Michigan are more impressive as well as Lansing as a city. Needless to say we went to the airport early, exhausted and stinging from our sunburned legs.
We have several more trips planned between now and July, we've got one year to smash out all the rest of the places we want to visit. :)
Hope winter is treating you well!
